COMMISSIONING

Most of my work is bespoke and tailored to the client's needs. Taking into account:

  • site - including historical and environmental references
  • clients style - work can be adapted to an existing aesthetic, though I always bring to the finished work my own design vocabulary
  • budget

Following an initial enquiry, I will make an appointment to meet you on site where we can discuss your aims and the potential possibilities for structure, techniques and finishes. This also gives me a chance to make photographic notes and take measurements. I will either provide you with rough costings at this point or soon after.

If you choose to proceed, I then make initial sketches of the project for you to approve and finalise plans for the finish expected (see FINISHES for further details). Following your approval, an invoice will be supplied and the on receipt of a 50% deposit a schedule shall be made and work commences.

During the production of a large item, photographs of work in progress can be supplied, or, if convenient, a workshop visit can be arranged.

Once the work is at the point of completion we will firm up dates for installation.

  • Site work will be charged at a day rate + expenses

Once fitting is complete an invoice will be supplied for the 50% balance and site costs. You will also be provided with information about how to best maintain your ironwork to ensure years of enjoyment.

If you are considering a project, drop me an e-mail via my contact page and I will be happy to get back to you and discuss your needs.
